The Beauty of a Galvanized Post Cap

There are some applications where simple just works better than anything else and the simplicity of the galvanized post cap is perfect for many applications for decks and fences. Caps for fence posts can be used for decorative purposes but the real reason to use them is to protect the integrity of the post itself. If left unprotected, the post can easily split due to weather related issues or insect infestation. Either way, it’s a bad thing to let happen when it’s so easy and inexpensive to prevent. You fence or deck should never be considered complete until post caps have been applied.

Useful Arbors for Garden Design

As a garden designer, I am always looking for interesting garden structures to make my designs unique. Garden structures also expand the pallet of plant materials by giving climbers something to climb on. The showiest blossom is not so showy if it lies face down in the mulch all summer long. Arbors are excellent structures to show off unique blooms in the garden. Online I have found a couple of products that I really like. The first one is the Beachside Arbor. It is a rustic structure made from Western cedar. I love the cedar color but there is no reason why it could not be painted or stained to match or coordinate with a particular color scheme. The Beachside Arbor is perfect for fast growing plants that climb aggressively. This is a good characteristic in a vine because they cover quickly. Plants such as wisteria and antique climbing roses exhibit these characteristics.

I never thought that buying a baby blanket could be so complicated. There are about a million different brands out there, different colors, different fabrics, how is one to choose? I mean it was worse than picking out a comforter, and babies are supposed to be less picky than adults! Luckily, with a little bit of research I narrowed it down to a couple of great options, and can now share them.

I Love My Adirondack Chairs

I had bugged my husband for two years about getting Adirondack chairs for our patio and deck.  He complained that they didn’t look comfortable, would not hold up well and that they were just too darn expensive.  It was a frustrating battle until I came home one day to six lovely hand-crafted simple Adirondack chairs on the patio and deck.  All he said was, “I hope you’re happy” and I was.  Now I can’t get him out of them.
